Doghouse finds Cunningham, and his fiancée Beth, presented with an uncomfortable conundrum: Visiting Beth’s recently widowed Aunt Hattie, the couple is convinced that George Muir, her husband and a renowned wildlife artist, was murdered while working in his studio. Cunningham uses his extensive knowledge of guns to discern the clever modus operandi; but who among Uncle George’s circle would have known enough to perpetrate the crime in the first place?
Set against a winsome Scottish background and told with his characteristic charm, Doghouse is Hammond at his best.
Gerald Hammond is a retired architect and the creator of the mystery series featuring John Cunningham, a dog breeder in Scotland, and Keith Calder, a gunsmith. He also writes under the pseudonyms Arthur Douglas and Dalby Holden.
