By Deryn Lake
All three books in Deryn Lake’s haunting historical romance series are now available in this must-have Sutton Place Trilogy edition.
SUTTON PLACE
When Richard Weston, a rising member of Henry VIII’s court, builds a magnificent manor house in the early sixteenth century, he has no idea he’s living on land cursed by the beautiful Queen Edith 500 years earlier.
His family must pay the terrible price for his ignorance. His son, Francis Weston, is to be wrongfully executed and the unfortunate residents of Sutton House are driven to madness and despair by the curse.
Can it ever be stopped?
THE SILVER SWAN
In the early 18th century, Elizabeth Weston is fleeing her home at Sutton Place and into the arms of celebrated poet, Alexander Pope. Her flight causes scandal in society – not least with her husband John, the latest in a long line of Westons to reside at Sutton Place.
But is it merely fate which takes a hand in the twists and turns of the illustrious Weston family – or is the legendary and inescapable curse at work again?
FORTUNE’S SOLDIER
Lady Horatia Waldegrave has fallen for Captain John Joseph Webbe-Weston, a soldier of fortune for the Austrian Emperor. He seems the perfect man, and they are madly in love. But John is heir to Sutton Place – and the dreadful curse that comes with it.
Can they free themselves from its heinous grips, or is their love doomed to forces beyond their control?
Deryn Lake started to write stories at the age of five then graduated to novels but destroyed all her early work because, she says, it was hopeless. A chance meeting with one of the Getty family took her to Sutton Place and her first serious novel was born. Deryn was married to a journalist and writer, the late L. F. Lampitt, has two grown-up children and lives in Mayfield, Sussex, with two large cats. She is also the author of To Sleep No More, The King’s Women and Pour The Dark Wine.
