Amelia Patton witnesses an exploding caravan, killing the woman inside. Recovering from her injuries near the Welsh coast, she finds out she is the residual legatee of her uncle’s will. Unable to travel, she sends her husband, ex-Detective Inspector Richard Patton, to attend the meeting. Richard smells foul play the minute he walks in, questioning the state of Walter’s mind before he fell through his third-story window. Probing further, Richard finds out that there might be a link between Walter’s death and the explosion that landed Amelia in hospital. This is one of his most difficult cases yet, as he sets out to discover the truth behind Walter’s death, before it’s too late.
