The Most Beautiful Girl in the World
By Ted Willis
When beauty queen Kitty Higgins woke up, she remembered it all: the swerving car, the struggle, and then – darkness.
Where is she? Who is holding her prisoner in a luxurious cell, watching her every move with closed-circuit cameras? Her nurses are kind, but they are like machines programmed to obey orders: whose orders? Who owns the exotic island prison and its population of beautiful girls?
Thousands of miles away, Steve is convinced that somehow, somewhere, Kitty is still alive. And he has the money and the means to find her. So begins a chase which takes him and a team of bounty-hunters from London to the Caribbean and into the fanatical, brain-washed ‘Community of New Jerusalem’ – a cult dedicated to possessing the most beautiful girl in the world.
Ted Willis is author of Death May Surprise Us, The Left-Handed Sleeper and Man-Eater, as well as the originator and writer of many television series and stage plays.
