Travel & The Single Girl
By Jenny Stallard
Heading to the other side of the world on your own as a single woman is one of the most exciting and daunting decisions you could ever make. Buying the ticket’s the easy part – then there’s the packing, willing your feet to board the plane and making friends once you’re there. Homesickness, hostel life, romance and sky diving over Rio -Travel and the Single Girl looks at the emotions you’ll go through once you’ve booked that ticket, and the practical aspects of packing, hostel life and life on the road. Jenny Stallard draws on her own experience and that of all the brilliant Single Girls she met on her travels to offer a helping hand whether you’ve just booked your ticket, you’re waiting at the terminal or sitting on a hostel bunk wondering what to do next.
Jenny Stallard is a freelance writer and editor who worked her way from local newspaper journalism to freelancing for the weekly and monthly women’s magazines. In September 2011 she took herself off to South America to travel, exploring Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile, fulfilling a lifelong dream to visit Machu Picchu. After all that hard work she took a much-needed break and moved to France to finish the ski season, where she waitressed, taught seasonnaires French and managed to fall over so badly skiing that she cracked a brand new helmet. Thanks to the helmet she is now alive and well enough to enter the world of e-book writing with Endeavour.
