The Girl Who Walked Away

By David Adkins

Steve Coulson has a normal, routine life.

He takes the train into London every morning where he settles into his work at a law firm, eats lunch at the local tea house at precisely 1 pm, and finishes the day before returning home to Lewisham. One day his routine is interrupted when he is joined by a beautiful woman. At first they engage in a harmless flirtation, but everything changes when she pleads with Steve to save a seemingly innocent man from the hangman!

As Coulson digs into the case, he finds that not everything is as it seems. The accused’s lawyer is doing nothing to actually help his client, the police are doing shoddy investigative work, and mysterious people keep showing up to threaten Steve off the case. Even as Coulson finds himself in physical danger and threat of having everything taken from him, he pursues the truth, but it seems that every time he gets close to unravelling one strand, it tangles ten more. Who truly killed Rupert Nesterman… and why?

The Girl Who Walked Away takes readers on an electrifying adventure to solve a mystery in a dangerous world full of intrigue, assassins, political intrigue, and, of course, beautiful women. Harkening back to a world where truth and justice must prevail in spite of hardship, this post-World War II action thriller is jam-packed with twists and turns sure to scintillate readers.
