Jonty Stewart, born to an upper-class family, is the epitome of charm and wit. Once an undergraduate at St Bride’s, he’s now returned to the college to take up a teaching post in the English department. Jonty is as passionate about Shakespeare as he is about solving mysteries. His weakness is a steak-and-kidney pie and he’ll always try to drag his friend and fellow lecturer Orlando to Bishop’s Cope for a pint or two. Jonty’s room is a chaotic mess, brimming with books, family photos and rugby mementoes. He’s the complete opposite to Orlando — but that’s what makes them such a great team.
Orlando Coppersmith is a fellow in Mathematics and has been at St Bride’s for six years. His room is pristine, his manner serious, and his grasp of social conventions tenuous at best.
