Riptide

By James Humphreys

The past is never dead and buried.

The remote village of Compton, on the foggy Norfolk coast, holds many memories for PC Sarah Delaney – most of which she’s tried hard to forget. For Compton was the place where her boyfriend had lived – and where he died.

Now she has been sent to investigate a disturbing sighting. Two bodies have been found lying on the mist-covered beach. But by the time Sarah arrives, the tide has come in and the bodies have been washed out to sea.

As a murder investigation is launched, Sarah is forced to confront ghosts that she would rather had remained in the past…

James Humphreys grew up in East Anglia and now lives in London with his wife and two young children. After working on environmental protection and European negotiations, he is now head of corporate communications in the Prime Minister’s office at Downing Street. Riptide is his second novel, following the critically acclaimed Sleeping Partner.
