Paths of Glory

The French 181st Regiment is sent to launch an attack on a German-held hill known as the Pimple. The patrol doesn’t go to plan though when the careless behaviour of his drunken commander leads to the death of one of their own men. The incident is covered up by officers but little does Didier realise that his accusations against the commander will have serious consequences for him in the near future. To teach the men a lesson in obedience and duty, it is decided that one man from each company be court-martialled and shot for cowardice. Captains Renouart and Sancy, Lieutenant Roget and Sergeant-Major Jonnart are all faced with the tough decision of choosing one of their own men to face a court martial fixed against them. How do they choose a man for death?
