Love on the Rocks
By Anne Christie
Widowed at an early age, Maggie has spent twelve years devoted to raising her children. Restless and in need of change, she heads to Scotland for the summer. In the remote fishing village of Inverie, Maggie falls in love with a bewitching cottage and so begins her new life on the Scottish coast, at the East Neuk in Fife.
Inspired by the beautiful landscape, Maggie immerses herself in her art, but begins to hope for more companionship than the seasonal visits from her old friend, and lover, the married Niall Maclean.
One evening by the docks, she runs into Andy Johnstone, the sandy-haired boatbuilder who had stolen her adolescent heart, and life starts to get a little more interesting…
This isolated corner of the Scottish coast becomes the sparkling setting for stories which span three generations. Maggie, her aunt Karin, and daughter Sophie will experience loss, love and laughter against the backdrop of the Scottish landscape.
