Boss of the Diamond-O

Gold makes monsters of men…

Alan Tring’s murdered further left him in charge of one of the largest horse ranches in Nevada.

But no one told him that inheriting a Kingdom this size would not only bring wealth, but with a whole other set of troubles.

Luckily, Alan can count on the loyalty of the trusty Diamond-O outfit – Shiner, his childhood companion, the range boss Tex Broome and his father’s right-hand man, Old ‘desert rat’ Timothy.

When a developer from the East by the name of O’Dale shows up with plans to build a dam, Alan and his outfit react in the way they know how – with cunning and a whole lot of lead.

But O’Dale has his own supporters and Trigger Anson is not a man to be messed with.

A plan is quickly formed and Old Timothy lays claim to a heap of gold ore in the Red Desert.

Soon, the gold-fevered residents of Virginia City and the workers of O’Dale’s dam are all rushing there to make their fortune.

Alan appears to have beaten the Easterner this time – but for how long?

Chaos and disorder soon descend and when the Diamond-O horses start to disappear and a worker shows up dead, the real trouble begins.

The outfits’ foray into the desert, in search of the horse thieves, prompts a meeting with a certain Miss Maureen Murphey.

But are those enchanting blue eyes hiding something?

It seems Alan and the rest of the Diamond-O team must rely on more than their fast gun-hands if they are to apprehend the thieves.

Will they catch them? Or is Alan not cut out to be the Boss of the Diamond O?
