The Second Voyage of the Seventh Carrier

By Peter Albano

Only the Yonaga can save the world…

For more than forty years, the Yonaga – once, Imperial Japan’s finest battleship – lay trapped beneath a glacier.

Now, they have been freed from their icy prison.

The men on the Yonaga are shocked to find that the radio broadcasts – ‘western propaganda’ – they heard over the years were all true.

The war is over. Japan surrendered to America. The Emperor is still alive but Japan no longer has the spirit they so revered.

The crew of Yonaga are all considered an embarrassing reminder of a dark past by this new-world Japan.

And more importantly, most of their families have either died or moved on without them.

Ensign Brett Ross is among his superiors to brief the aging samurais of their fate.

For Ross, the mission is a tough one – someone on Yonaga killed his father: Commander Theodore “Trigger” Ross.

However, they have little time to discuss anything.

China has launched a new satellite system and within minutes, all over the world, planes start crashing down – killing millions.

No one is sure why, not even China, but it seems the only aircraft that can fly are old fighter planes.

And to make matters worse, Libya decides to declare war against Israel. The USSR, seeing an opportunity to hit America and the west, are supporting them.

Libya’s dictator has heard news of the Yonaga and its military prowess and in a move to ensure its swift departure, decides to destroy it.

But old samurai are hard to kill; Admiral Fujita will show no mercy to these terrorists.

In turn, neither do Libya; in revenge, they take thousands of innocent people hostages, including the Japanese ambassador.

Yonaga is now one of the strongest weapons in the world, so if there’s any chance of saving them, it’s down to the Yonaga and its bombers.

With the help of both the CIA and the Israeli Intelligence Agency, they might just be able to defeat Libya on all fronts.

For now, Ross will have to quash his personal feelings of revenge and work side-by-side with his father’s killers.

The fate of the world, after all, is much more important….

Rich in military detail and history, The Second Voyage of the Second Carrier is a thrilling, heart-pounding read.
