The Long Ride
Conn Marden is on the run…
His nephew, Billy Pitt, robbed a miner and now Marden is paying the price.
Desperately trying to buy some time for his nephew, who is doomed to an early death from a deadly disease, Marden bought into a stage-coach hold-up and killed an outlaw, before finding himself holding a shotgun and selling his life.
But whilst the trail to Julesburg and back, Billy goes off the rails again in Fairville…
He unjustifiably kills a drummer after a gambling spat turns nasty and things go from bad to worse when he realises that the receptionist, Beth Parker, saw him follow the drummer upstairs, moments before the murder took place.
Out of fear and pure callousness, spurred on by his own panic, Billy makes a brash decision.
To ensure that no one can suspect him of murder, he decides that he must prevent the girl from telling anyone what she saw…
But can Billy hide his footsteps that easily?
After a tough battling trip, Marden arrives back to more trouble than he has ever encountered.
With no time to hesitate, they all have a long and hard ride ahead, having to think and shoot fast along the way.
It’s going to be the longest ride of their lives…
