The Last Enemy

By Richard Hillary

Richard Hillary was one of the great heroes of WW2.  As a fighter pilot, Hillary was shot down and hospitalised as part of Archibald McIndoe’s ‘Guinea Pig Club’. He underwent plastic surgery and published his account in 1942. His memoir has become a standard text, republished in 2010 with a new introduction by Sebastian Faulks.
