Texas Gunfighter
From outlaw to Texas Ranger…
Pat Malone, was once a wanted outlaw – he shot and murdered another man. But he turned himself in and consequently turned his life around.
Now, he’s a Ranger, more famously known as ‘Captain Peacemaker’ by the border towns of Texas.
What’s more, his infamous quick draw is the stuff of legends – many an arrogant and ambitious fool has found himself shot down by Malone in a duel.
And his latest mission has led him to the town of Sundown.
Sundown is like many border towns – open to corruption by greedy men and in Sundown that man is Mr Hendry.
Owner of the North Star Saloon, Hendry aims to take over the entire town with the help of his gun-hawk, Black Snow.
Named for his all-black ensemble, Snow is unlike any young gun hawk that Malone has ever met. Cold, intelligent and calculating, Malone knows that Snow will wait for the right time to kill him.
Hendry’s men rob and murder the townsfolk. Not only that but many suspect that he’s also behind the spate of cattle rustling affecting the local ranches.
At least, that’s what Jo Storme, owner of the Double Y Ranch, believes.
But she has no proof and with Sheriff Tom Wight being blackmailed by Hendry to do and say nothing, Malone is Sundown’s last hope.
But what about the mysterious masked bandit The Scarlet Sombrero, who robs from Hendry’s men and returns his takings back to the victims.
Though Malone appreciates the ideals of the bandit, he’s a lawman and if the bandit doesn’t stop, The Scarlet Sombrero may find himself facing the hangman’s noose.
Will Malone finally find his match with Black Snow?
And just who is The Scarlet Sombrero?
It’s all up to the Texas Gunfighter to find out…
An action-packed Western, Texas Gunfighter is a perfect read for fans of Zane Gray.
