Bright Lights, Big City

By Roger Hurn

Private Investigator Ryan Kyd finds himself alone in London on New Year’s Eve when he receives a phone call from Jason Mulwhinney, a successful playwright, with a case for him to investigate.

Mulwhinney wants Kyd to go to New York to retrieve the stolen manuscript for a play he has written, which he believes has been taken by Jezebel, his ex-girlfriend.

But when Kyd hunts Jezebel down, she claims the manuscript was actually written by her. Suddenly everyone seems to want to get their hands on the play ….and Kyd doesn’t know who to trust.

Things take a dramatic turn for the worse when Kyd walks in on Mulwhinney’s latest girlfriend, Carmelita, standing over Jezebel’s dead body.

Why is the manuscript worth killing for? And if Jezebel didn’t have it, then who does?
